A Survival Guide: Kokoda
A Survival Guide: Kokoda
Stephen McCormack made two attempts to walk the Kokoda trail. The first time, he was not prepared for the ordeal and needed to be flown out. The second time, he knew better. He prepared himself, and succeeded.
He is not a Digger. Nor has he fought in any wars. Like the Diggers in World War II however, his life was changed by the Track. After having attempted to walk the Kokoda trail and failing due to the lack of adequate advice, he was required to change himself.
It was by using the advice that can be found in A Survival Guide: Kokoda that the author created the changes that led to his success on his second attempt at Kokoda. It is his wish for everyone go through the changes that he went through whilst at Kokoda, and has written A Survival Guide: Kokoda to help make this happen.
Although only in his mid-twenties, Stephen has seen more of the world than most people will in a lifetime. Having travelled in Antarctica, Europe, Asia, North and South America and, of course, Papua New Guinea, he has gained the experience that only travel can provide.
His adventures on the Kokoda trail have allowed him to learn more about himself than any other country he has visited. His love of life and belief in using every moment as if it were the last propelled him to writing A Survival Guide: Kokoda.
